About Us

Clarence Lodge is a family owned care home. It is situated within walking distance of the seafront and the town centre.

The Lodge was purchased by Dr & Mrs Verma in 2010 but they have been proprietors within the care sector for over 16 yrs, we are CQC registered to accommodate 28 adults over 65 yrs specialising in Dementia. The lodge is run by Lisa Jayne Hubbard who has been the registered manager since January 2012.

Dr & Mrs Verma are supported by a team consisting of 23 staff lead by care manager Lisa Jayne Hubbard and deputy manager Emma Roberts. We like to promote a holistic approach to care, with the assistance of family and friends we will create a care plan which incorporates the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of our residents. 

We like to learn as much as possible about their life history so we can help them take part in activities they used to do as well as try new activities and celebrate events that are important to them.

Dr Verma is a Consultant Paediatrician and Mrs Verma is a Qulified Teacher. They both play an active role in the running of the home.
Lisa Jayne Hubbard has been employed in care sector for over 25 yrs working with dementia and behavior that challenges. She has completed her Level 4 in Health & Social Care Management and is currently doing her Level 5 qualification. Lisa has completed various other courses as a trainer in Mental Capacity and MUST. She is also a qualified NVQ Assessor. 
Emma Roberts has been employed in the care sector for over 26 yrs working with mental health, learning disabilities, elderly, dementia and has also got experience with behaviour that challenges. Emma has NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and is in the process of commencing her Level 5 in Management.
